Football Season is Fast Approaching – Get Involved!

The NFL season is right around the corner. We love football and competition, so we’ve set up a couple groups and a fantasy league or two to have some fun with our readers/followers. Without further ado:

2nd Annual The Sports Geeks Fantasy Football League

Note: If we get a good response on this, we’ll try to do 2 leagues and have the champions of each play each other at the end of the season.

Here’s the deal. We’ll do a 12-team head-to-head league with a live auction draft on ESPN.com, and the scoring will be pretty standard. It’s totally free and the league(s) isn’t intensely competitive but we’d like anyone involved to be pretty active. Here are a few requirements:

  1. Be able to attend a live online draft Wednesday, September 8th at 8:00 PM EST (This is the day before the season starts).
  2. Have enough time to set your lineup every week. We’re not asking you to spend 15 hours a week researching backup kickers, but we don’t want to see any empty lineup spots on bye weeks.
  3. Respond to trade offers and other league communications in a timely manner.
  4. Have a sense of humor and don’t be a jerk.

If you’re interested, send us a tweet or leave a comment on this page with your Twitter username, or another way to contact you. We’ll choose from them randomly in a week or so.

  1. @Kris__Watson I’d love to be in your league. Let me know if you have spots still open. Thanks so much.
