The arrests of Aaron Hernandez, Ausar Walcott and Joe Lefeged in the last few weeks have led to the seemingly-annual discussion about the number of NFL players what are arrested each year. The San Diego Union-Tribune has been keeping track of NFL arrests since 2000 and has a searchable database here.
I took the data from their site and put it into a timeline by team of all the arrests, with icons to represent the type of crime and popovers to display info about the arrests and even mugshots where I could find them.

So there isn’t a single NFL team that doesn’t have at least 9 players that have been placed under arrest for one reason or another (at least 20% violent) since 2000? That is an organization that is truly worthy of praise. I wonder how this comparison would look across all the major pro team sports?
